Monitoring the Plans

Measuring progress is essential to effective planning and management in our region.

Delivery of the Plans involves state and local governments, and may rely on local planning and agency programs to get the best outcomes for communities.

Monitoring the implementation of our strategic plans is important. It helps us understand progress towards delivering the vision set out in our Plans, as well as understanding how the region is growing and changing.

Reporting provides transparency and accountability, and learning from monitoring is a key factor in the ongoing review of any plan. State and local governments use reporting to measure progress and inform future reviews of the Plans.

Strategic planning

The Commission sits at the centre of government, industry and community to coordinate strategic planning for the region.

Our role is to link local councils, community and state agencies to facilitate infrastructure planning, funding and delivery. Key to this process is the Region Plan and City Plans.
