Tech Central supports Sydney WorldPride
Tech Central is proudly celebrating Sydney WorldPride 2023 as the most inclusive, welcoming, sustainable and creative innovation district in the world. The suburbs of Tech Central are among the most diverse, inclusive neighbourhoods in Sydney, so naturally, we're going BIG for the biggest global LGBTQIA+ festival, held here for the first time!
Love Pop at South Eveleigh
Tech Central, in partnership with South Eveleigh, is home to the 'Love Pop' inflatable art activation throughout Sydney WorldPride, as part of the Rainbow City celebrations.
Created by artist Matthew Aberline from the Beautiful and Useful Studiolaunch, 'Love Pop' features touchable over-sized snacks, including a carton of milk as a symbol of strength and bravery, and a 'Crazy in Love' treat box. The installation draws on the tradition of sharing food and breaking bread with family and friends, evoking the values of love, community, and diversity.
The installation also includes a series of activities, developed by award-winning writer Catherine Moore, to encourage viewers to spread fun, interactivity and playfulness with the exhibition.
South Eveleigh will also be celebrating Pride with a DJ on Saturday nights from 6.30-9.30pm at BrewDog, located just across from Love Pop.
Come and visit the Love Pop installation at Innovation Square, share a photo, tag @greatercitiescommission and @techcentral and spread the love!
Love Pop is just one of 45 installations transforming Greater Sydney into a Rainbow City for Sydney WorldPride 2023. The 45 free public artworks mark 45 years of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
